Food supplement based on lutein, astaxanthin, coenzyme Q10, zinc, copper and vitamins A, C, E. The particular absorption characteristic in two phases (rapid-slow) allows in 24 hours optimal and differentiated dosages over time ensuring continuous protection and synergy of action between the various components. It is useful in all cases of cellular degeneration against macula lutea and performs the important task of regulating the biochemical and physiological processes of the retinal cells by slowing down the alterations of visual functions and protecting the visual sensitivity of the lens. The active ingredients play a complementary and protective role in the forms of macular and retinal cell rarefaction induced by dysmetabolism as in cases of degenerative aging of the visual function.
It Contains:
Lutein, a carotenoid that cannot be synthesized by the body, which is therefore essential to bring from the outside. It concentrates under genetic control in the macula, in the retina, in the lens, playing a natural filter role, protecting the retinal epithelium from photochemical oxidative damage. Absorbs blue light and concentrates in the rods carried by the HDL lipoproteins. It therefore reduces the risk of macular and retinal cell degeneration and the oxidation (opacity) of the lens in old age.
Astaxanthin, which like lutein is a carotenoid with characteristics of very strong antioxidant activity deriving from the active role of several actions on the inhibition of lipoperoxidation of the membranes of the visual apparatus. Enhances and synergizes the roles of coenzyme Q10 and vitamins E, C.
Coenzyme Q10, which has an active and essential role in the mitochondrial respiratory chain. Its natural endogenous synthesis is reduced in the degenerative forms of the visual apparatus, therefore its administration is necessary to reduce the oxidative damages induced by free radicals. It also seems to have the ability to reactivate vitamin E, such as astaxanthin, especially when it is in its reduced form (ubiquinone).
Zinc, which is concentrated in the retina, macula and choroid helping the regeneration of the macular pigment through the activation of various enzyme systems that inhibit the photooxidation of lutein. It therefore also carries out antioxidant activity and regulates the formation of the electrical signal. Suitable, at adequate doses, in slowing down macular degenerative events.
Copper, which conditions and regulates the activity of essential enzymes for a physiological metabolism of the retinal epithelium, is synergistic with zinc in the prevention of macular degeneration.
Vitamin A, essential for the response to the light stimulus, regulates the trophism of retinal cells and is the precursor of the visual pigment.
Vitamin C, an antioxidant that reduces the fragility of the capillaries, the choroid and regenerates and amplifies the role of vitamin E.
Vitamin E, which protects the retinal cells from light damage, is antioxidant for lipids and anti-degenerative.
