Omega 3 are essential polyunsaturated fatty acids, essential for our body. Krill oil is obtained from very small crustaceans (Euphausia Superba), a species that lives in the pristine waters of the Antarctic Ocean, rich in Omega 3, EPA (eicosapentaenoic acid) and DHA (docosahexaenoic acid) fatty acids. Krill, feeding exclusively on algae, is at the base of the food chain; algae are excellent sources of Omega 3, Vitamin A, E and Astaxanthin. Unlike fish oil and cod liver oil, Krill oil contains a proportion, between Omega 3 and Omega 6, equal to 15: 1 compared to fish oil which contains a proportion equal to 3: 1.
