Chondroitin and glucosamine sulfate are two substances naturally present in the connective tissues of the human body, especially at the level of the cartilages. Chondroitin sulfate is an important structural component of cartilage, responsible for almost all cartilage compressive strength. Glucosamine is an aminomonosaccharide (or glycosamine) and one of the main precursors of glycosylated protein and lipid synthesis. Because it is a precursor of glycosaminoglycans, which are the main component of articular cartilage, glucosamine should help rebuild cartilage and treat arthritis.
Methyl salicylate is used as a cutaneous vasodilator, in the treatment of muscle and joint pain. It is a molecule useful in case of acute pain due to the fact that it exerts anti-inflammatory effects.
