The AnnurMets hair supplement is indicated to counteract balding and to combat thinning hair in adults, due to both hormonal and metabolic factors.
The product is produced by the Department of Pharmacy of the University of Naples Federico II in collaboration with the Melannurca Campana PGI Consortium.
The studies carried out by the University of Naples Federico II have shown that the Melannurca Campana PGI (Malus pumila Miller cultivar Annurca), modulating the absorption of selenium, copper and biotin, contributes to trichological tropism.
In fact, this fruit is rich in oligomeric procyanidins (ie bioflavonoids) and, in particular, procyanidin B2, a component that, according to the laboratory data, seems to be particularly effective in promoting hair growth and maintaining the well-being of the scalp , thanks to a real reinforcing action.
The constant use of the supplement allows to increase and speed up the growth and consistency of the hair.
The optimization of the bioavailability of the AnnurMets capsules has been achieved thanks to a particular "coating" method with a chitosan based solution having the purpose of increasing the contact surface of the micronized extract which can therefore be better assimilated.

Procyanidin B2 is one of the safest natural compounds in promoting the growth of hair epithelial cells.
By evaluating the polyphenols content of different apple varieties, it has been found that the Melannurca represents the variety with the highest content of oligomeric procyanidins, and in particular of procyanidin B2.
Furthermore, it has also been seen that the polyphenols contained in Melannurca act as antioxidants, in vivo modulate lipid metabolism and cholesterol levels.
Procyanidin B2 has a positive effect on alopecia because it can promote the expression of keratin in hair cells.
What has been noted is that procyanidin B2 has been shown to counteract TGF beta-1 and TGF beta-2 growth factors (responsible for epithelial cell apoptosis).
Thanks to the studies carried out on subjects affected by moderate alopecia, there has been an increase in both the growth and the volume of the hair. These results were obtained through the daily intake of AnnurMets (in resistant capsules) for a period of two months. At the end of the two months of treatment, hair growth, weight and keratin content increased by 118.3%, 37.3% and 35.7%, respectively.
The co-formulation also includes selenium and copper which are minerals well known for their beneficial effect on hair and skin and which are also fundamental for improving the bioavailability of procyanidin.
